The first ever documentary about the making of this iconic statue on the campus of San Jose State. This is the story about student activism and how the statue actually got made, including interviews with Rigo, the artist, Alfonso DeAlba, Executive Director of Associated Students at the time, and Eric Grotz, the student who came up with the original idea. Also featured is rare footage of the actual work in progress on the campus as it was being made in 2005, as well as footage of Tommie Smith and John Carlos speaking at the unveiling ceremony. Cotton Stevenson, writer/director/filmmaker of the documentary will be on hand for the presentation and Q&A after. (Arrive at 6 to enjoy a light Community Dinner at the Peace Center)
