If you agree please help urge the SJ city council to stand in support of AB1400. Their support will help us persuade other Asm and Senate representatives who have not yet come out in support of the bill.
HERE’S WHAT YOU CAN DO:

First, Speak Up at the San José Rules Commission!

Wednesday Oct. 13th, 2 PM

On Wednesday City of San José Rules and Open Government. Committee (ROGC) will vote whether to send the AB1400 (CalCare) support Memorandum to the City Council for consideration and vote. Please take these Actions ASAP!

  1. Click HERE to send an email of support to the ROGC by 10 am on Oct 13th!
  2. Attend the ROGC meeting on Wednesday at 2 pm & be prepared to make a 30-60 sec comment in support of AB1400. Find agenda and zoom link HERE.
  3. Read and use these AB1400 Talking Points to spread the word!

… SAVE THE DATE – Oct. 26th will be the Full City Council Final Vote if the AB1400 Memo is passed by the ROGC.

Second, Attend the AB1400 (CalCare) Town Hall

Join us to hear from AB1400 author, Assemblymember Ash Kalra as well as other speakers from around the state including the former president of the California Nurses Association, Malinda Markowitz, RN, San Jose Councilmember Magdalena Carrasco, SJSU Professors Dr. William Armaline with the SJSU Human Rights Institute, and local activists from the Santa Clara County Single-Payer Coalition. Come show your support for Healthcare equity in CA.
