San José Peace Pantry is part of the Mini Pantry Movement!

An olive colored box with a window in the door is in front of a house and a lawn with a driveway on the right. Inside the box are groceries such as macaroni and cheese, canned foods, and oranges. The box is perched on a post.
Our Peace Pantry at the San José Peace and Justice Center (48 S. 7th Street, San Jose, CA)

Hello San José community,

My name is Diamond I am a new intern at the Peace and Justice Center. I am very excited to get started and make a change in our community.

Recently our Peace Pantry has been highlighted on the Little Free Pantry website! Little Free Pantry is a website that highlights free pantries, “Blessing Boxes”, and community fridges across the country. It also educates on the reason why free pantries have sprung up, as well as resources on how to create your own. The Peace Pantry of San José is a great opportunity for local community members to take what they need or give what they can.

The expansion of the Peace Pantry program is important and will benefit the community in many ways because it will continue to address the food insecurity in San José. The lack of access to food for some people has been an ongoing problem and has shown a large increase since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. With your donation to our Peace Pantry program, members of the San José community may be able to find their next meal.

If you are unable to come to the Pantry in person and are still interested in supporting the Peace Pantry, financial donations are appreciated through our GoFundMe campaign. We recently posted an update about the Little Free Pantry website to our campaign, so check it out at the link below:
