This Earth Day, California Youth Climate Strike is celebrating the 50th anniversary of Earth Day through a three-day program of climate action. They will be conducting teach-ins, fireside chats, Q&A panels, and more from Wednesday, April 22nd to Friday, April 24th.
Due to COVID-19, all actions will be held online. Teach-in presentations and Q&A panels will be held through Zoom webinars. Day Two will examine divestment, climate financing, and the consequences of capitalism manifesting in the climate crisis. Day Three will be focused on political engagement.
At 2PM on Thursday, April 23rd, Michele (Director of SJPJC) will be speaking on a panel called “COVID-19 versus Climate Crisis.” In the midst of the current COVID-19 Crisis, this webinar will teach people how the COVID-19 Crisis relates to and affects the Climate Crisis. The webinar will start off with a detailed explanation of the two situations, then relate them onto each other. You will examine what can be learned from each situation and how to move forward using that knowledge. After the presentation, there will be a Q&A panel discussion with a few experts on the topic.
