R.I.P. Gursharan Singh, victim of armed robbery in San José

On early Wednesday, December 9, 2020, Gursharan Singh, an associate at a 7-Eleven in South San José, was fatally shot at approximately 1:00AM with a handgun. He was reported dead at the scene.

According to his family, Gursharan Singh was a hard working individual trying to support his lower-middle-class family. Singh leaves behind his wife, daughter (6), son (5), and elderly parents in India.

A community member reached out to us to promote a fundraiser that has been established to help Singh’s family and kids’ educational endeavors, and any other unforeseen expenses. The fund has been organized by Gursharan Singh‘s brother-in-law Tirath Singh (Tony) of Santa Clara, and San Francisco Monterey Bay Franchises organization association will be helping the family to ensure all funds raised through this campaign will pay for Gursharan Singh’s immediate family in India.

The San José Peace and Justice Center sends our condolences to Singh’s family and loved ones.
