Santa Clara County: Invest in Community, Not Jails!

On August 25th, the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors are voting on whether or not to spend 1 billion installment of potentially 2.5 billion of our dollars on incarceration instead of schools, housing, healthcare, and other urgent community needs. The “Jail Transformation Plan” includes building a new facility and will be operating 15 years from now.  Reach out to your Board of Supervisor to say: Invest in Community, Not Jails

2. Join us at the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday August 25th for Item #9 Consider Recommendations Relating to the Jail Facility Transformation Process In Person at – 70 W Hedding St, San Jose, CA 95110 or Through Zoom: https://sccgov-org.zoom.us/j/89640660442

3. If you can’t make it, you can submit a letter/public comment at  BoardOperations@cob.sccgov.org

Let the Board know we don’t want to spend billions on incarceration!
