Come Work in Our Community Garden!

By Annie, a volunteer

Join us for a Community Garden Work Party every Saturday from 10AM to 12PM at the San Jose Peace and Justice Center! The space behind the Center is a gorgeous open canvas that has already had a lot of love put into it. Several dedicated working groups have contributed their efforts, creating an inviting community space full of potential – and we need support in continuing this momentum of contribution and collaboration! After all, many hands make light work. If you are interested in learning more about the San Jose Peace and Justice Center in general, this could be a sweet introduction to the space and to some of the community members.

Some tasks might include tending to the bordering beds already planted by spreading mulch and watering. There are seedlings and starters possibly up for transplanting and raised beds to be tended to. We welcome folks with any skill level, experience and ability to join us this weekend. Please remember to bring a mask and a water bottle. You are welcome to come join us just to get a taste of this space and you are not locked into a commitment. We hope to see you there and keep posted for future work party dates!

An image of a pile of mulch in the foreground. Mulch is in front of a painted garage on the left and painted fence on the right. Painted images on a pink background include a raccoon on a branch, and hummingbird in a hole, a moon with two skeletons kissing under it in some cacti. There is a wooden fence with "Papeles Para Todos" painted on it.
